Financial Settlement

Need to formalise financial arrangements following separation or looking for advice on what to expect?

Contact our office to make an appointment with one of our solicitors to discuss the process and options available to you.

Financial settlement can be a daunting process for anyone going through a separation.

At Morton & Morton our solicitors will assist with all aspects of Financial Settlement including providing an initial advice, obtaining full financial disclosure from your ex-partner, representing you through negotiations and mediations and filing Court proceedings, if necessary.

Our solicitors are able to provide advice in relation to the process that will be undertaken, the considerations that will be taken into account and what the likely outcome will be as well as assisting to reality test the many possible outcomes that may be achieved. This includes helping put in place interim solutions until your matter is finalised.

Morton and Morton will be able to provide an estimate of fees and advise what can be done to keep fees to a minimum. Our solicitors will keep clients informed about the costs as the matter progresses and take all steps to ensure that the matter is resolved as quickly and as amicably as possible.

Unfortunately, a grant of Legal Aid is not available in all property matters however as a Legal Aid Queensland preferred supplier, our staff are also able to assist by explaining the Legal Aid options that may be available and lodging any necessary application.
